Boards 123

We developed ESG dashboards capable of inputting data to generate reports, graphs and capturing geo-spatial data, developing front-end and back-end in parallel.

Big Motive

We partnered with Big Motive to develop cutting edge fasttext algorithms to work in the background of their pain-based application. Our in-house data and architect expertise ensured project was delivered on time and to specification.

Deloitte

Flax & Teal partnered with Deloitte to build an enterprise-level data gathering Human Resources platform. The digital transformation project changed the way resources are managed by quantifying time allocated to various departments.

This project involved an iterative Agile, full stack build and development of cloud infrastructure. The team deployed Kubernetes to ensure flexibility and resilience of service.

Digital Transformation

Our in-house team of web developers and data scientists are experts in guiding businesses throughout their digital transformation journey.

This knowledge transfer and upskilling can be imparted through several fields; digitalisation, web development, machine learning and data science. We aim to not only resolve initial problems and barriers to digital transformation, but to ensure these processes can continue without our involvement.

We also provide training services in Python and Kubernetes, with highly positive feedback. Our Python course can be tailored to delivery, with modules focused to customer need. Our Director, Phil Weir, is one of Northern Ireland’s only certified Kubernetes architects.

Maritime Mile - Belfast’s Cultural Heritage

Developed through the Belfast City Council’s HUB-IN Challenge Fund, we created a prototype that utilized advanced technologies to enhance the exploration of Belfast’s Maritime Mile.

This involved creating immersive virtual environments accessible via smartphones, allowing users to explore detailed 3D/VR recreations of historical sites along the Maritime Mile.

Office for National Statistics

Improving upon governmental search

We worked closely with the Office of National Statistics to enhance and improve the search functionality on their existing site. This involved using advanced Natural Language Processing techniques, Kubernetes container orchestration, and enhancing geo-location searching.

We utilised ElasticSearch to augment location-based search functionality and improve search accuracy. We re-developed select pages within the front-end of the existing site to match the new internal design, based on client specification.

Open Data NI

Flax & Teal were winners of the OpenDataNI Innovation & Outreach Fund 2020 & 2021, for our work surrounding Our Raging Planet and our work with open data and Covid-19.

We utilised Northern Irish open data surrounding Covid-19 cases and vaccinations, after conducting user-research with key stakeholders. We collated the data and displayed findings through interactive Python-based graphs for end-users.

YFor Software Development

We developed a web-based platform for HR management and dashboard analytics. Developing both back-end and front-end to client specification, to transform how skill gaps are addressed in employment.

Working closely with YFor, we developed tailored dashboards according to user requirements, and developed both client and user front-ends, with multiple levels of user access.

Agency Sector Management

We have provided services and support in cloud architecture, focused on Kubernetes deployment and AWS.

We partnered with ASM to build a front-end web based application to replace their previous desktop-based system. This involved a full-build development, implementing new functionality and new UX design.
